A friendly bilingual turquoise monster who shares music, stories and experiences from Mexico. Rosita is an enthusiastic member of the Sesame Street neighbourhood whose Mexican heritage and Spanish language are natural parts of her life. She enjoys singing, making music and building friendships, and her conversations often give children opportunities to hear English and Spanish together. Her personality is warm and outgoing, but she also has moments of frustration or uncertainty that invite understanding rather than easy answers. Rosita appears in stories about traditions, fairness, family and belonging, helping show that a community becomes richer when people share different experiences. Her cheerful performances have made her an important part of the series for decades.
